U.S. Representative Don Beyer (D-VA-08) reportedly compared President Joe Biden to Jesus Christ during a Tuesday fundraising event in McLean, Virginia, drawing similarities between the suffering Jesus experienced when crucified to the various political and personal tragedies of the president’s life.
Beyer “invoked the crucifixion of Jesus” during the fundraising event, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
The Democrat explained Jesus “died to demonstrate the universality of human suffering—that suffering was not the end,” then noted, “We each endure tragedies in our lives and hardships and suffering.”
Speaking of Biden, Beyer then reportedly claimed “few” have experienced as many hardships as the 81-year-old president. He then listed, “Losing his wife, losing his daughter, and losing his son. The vicissitudes of American politics.”
Despite the tragedies, Beyer claimed Biden has remained “resilient, optimistic, indefatigable,” “courageous,” and “a good, good man.”
Beyer then argued that “presidential historians” are already declaring Biden’s first term in the White House “the most productive and successful” period in American history, and crediting the Biden administration with a “transformed” American economy.
While Beyer spoke glowingly about Biden this week, last year, the president repeatedly called the Democrat by the wrong first name.
“Where’s Doug? The congressman? He’s around here somewhere,” said Biden, referencing Beyer, whose first name is Don, in a January 26, 2023 event The New York Post described as “gaffe-filled.”
After spotting Beyer at the event, Biden continued, “There you are, Doug, thank you for the passport into town. Doug and I have something in common, we both married way above our station.”

The McClean fundraiser, at which Beyer reportedly compared Biden to Jesus, is the same event at which the president acknowledged that his poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump was not his “best night.”
Biden acknowledged, “the fact is that, you know, I wasn’t very smart,” then cited his travel in the weeks prior to the debate. He admitted he “didn’t listen to [his] staff and came back and nearly fell asleep on stage.”
Still, the president argued, “I wouldn’t be doing this again if I didn’t think it was so important.” Of Trump, Biden declared, “I think it’s critical that he not win. It’s critical that he not win again.”
A spokesman for Beyer disputed whether the Democrat compared Biden to Jesus, telling the Free Beacon the congressman “was clearly musing on the centrality of suffering to the human experience” and stating Beyer did not “compare the President to Jesus Christ” in the speech.
On Tuesday, a leaked memo from a progressive nonprofit contained polling data showing Biden tied with Trump in Virginia and 7 percent behind the former president in Pennsylvania.

I’m Roman Catholic Ms. Beyer and I only have one question to ask of you? Do you know how to read between the lines?
Volvo Don Beyer is a slick used car salesman and deranged Satanist-Marxist barking moonbat.
Mr. Beyer has the level of notoriety correct but at the wrong end of the scale.
